Emphasis on languages |
English: the school creates an environment for the students to maintain a high level of proficiency of the language to stay ahead of the average individual.
This is done through the teaching of proper speech & drama when the child is in Tahap 1 [lower primary].
As the years progress, public speaking and debating are taught and inter-class/inter-schools competitions are organized to give children's mastery of the language.
They inadvertently learn well and gain confidence when their command of English is good.
Mandarin: Mandarin is compulsory for all students.
Mandarin: is compulsory for all students.
All Primary students are 'blocked' into 2 groups for Mandarin classes.
The first group is taught to the level of UPSR Mandarin [as in Chinese primary school]
The second group is taught communicative Mandarin.
A very complex system, unique only to Seri Cahaya, is employed to selectively review progress of the students and teach them accordingly.
The objective is for all the students to learn the language at their own pace and capability.
Students joining us from Chinese Primary schools will be prepared for the Mandarin public exams in Secondary 3 & 5 [PMR/SPM].
Bahasa Malaysia: Proficiency in BM is evidenced in the fact that our students perform very well in public examinations.
Usually, the school scores a 100% pass in BM in UPSR & PMR. [For your information, we scored 100% passes in all the 5 subjects in the recent UPSR 2006]

R.E.A.L. |
Result Enhancing through Active Learning is a concept that Education Ventures has authored.
The mission of the school is to transform everyone [students & teachers alike] to be an active learner; one who actively searches and experiments.
In this process, he/she adapts to changes and is encouraged to improvise for self-improvement.
Then through a rigorous process of learning and coaching to develop life-skills, the student gradually matures to produce enhancing results.

Multiple Intelligences Approach |
The understanding of MI is the understanding of how children learn.
Dr Howard Gardner's research suggested that children learn best through their own areas of intelligences.
There are 8 areas in all and each child has these intelligences in varying degrees.
Our aim is to discover the MI's of each child and bring out the best in him/her.
How do we do this?
- The teaching methodologies are designed to include all these areas in one lesson.
- Thus everyone understands the subject in his/her own way.
- In order to harness the MI approach, teachers go through extensive training on Multi-faceted teaching, a method that complements the MI concept.
- Children love this fun-learning and most importantly, they learn well!

Character Building |
Every student goes through the coaching process in character building.
The major learning avenues are usually in extra-curricular activities, school & company projects [like charity carnivals] and off-campus camps.
Professional coaches and our own teachers give valuable debriefings after each activity.
Indeed, the school is a wholesome training ground for character building.

Life's Skills |
Money Literacy:
The reinstatement of the lost skill of managing & valuing money in children.
In addition, basic skills in entrepreneurship are also taught.
Health & Values:
Introduces and develops the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will assist students to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
Understanding what it means to be healthy-physically, socially, mentally and emotionally.
